· Check Up
What is a check up?
Check-up is a periodic health screening that
can be performed to evaluate the current health status in healthy individuals
and to investigate possible disease risks, to determine the status and course
of the disease in sick individuals and to control the body in general. In
check-up applications, it is aimed to detect hidden diseases that have not yet
seen visible or perceptible symptoms by going through the body in general. For
this reason, every individual who pays attention to himself and his health
should have regular check-ups. This application is very important for early
detection of diseases such as cancer that progress insidiously and do not show
any symptoms until their final stages.
What does a check-up cover?
Although the screening and tests performed in
check-up applications differ depending on the health institution where the
application was made, they are close to each other. These tests generally
consist of blood, urine and stool tests and some imaging methods. The tests
commonly used in check up applications are:
· Medical examination
· Complete blood count
· Blood sugar test
· Liver and kidney function tests
· Blood lipid and cholesterol tests
· Hormone tests
· Vitamin and mineral tests
· Urine test
· Effort test
· ECG (Electrocardiogram)
· Ultrasonography
· X-ray
In addition to basic check-up tests, it is
possible to have more detailed tests for cancer screening, endoscopy, allergy
testing, and more detailed examinations for people with a chronic disease
history in their family.
